Sandra Arruda

In the fall of 2024, Sandra will begin a master’s degree in geographic sciences at Université Laval under the supervision of Danièle Bélanger and funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). Her research will focus on the effects of climate change in the province of Quebec, human mobility and its social impacts. During her bachelor’s degree in geography, also obtained at Université Laval, Sandra worked as a research assistant on projects with the Équipe de recherche en partenariat sur la diversité culturelle et l’immigration dans la region de Québec (ÉDIQ), thus enriching her academic and professional career. Graduating in social work techniques in 2016, Sandra gained experience working with marginalized populations. Since 2020, she has worked as a community worker for the Programme d’encadrement clinique et d’hébergement (PECH), where she supports people in situations of residential instability.
