Eléonore Thibeault holds a bachelor’s degree in geography at Université Laval and a master’s degree in Geographic Sciences under the direction of professors Danièle Bélanger and Adèle Garnier. Her interest in migration issues stems from her work in a community organization offering homework support to young people, including migrants, in Quebec City.
Her dissertation is part of the Chair research project in partnership with Carrefour Emploi Lotbinière. It studies the family experience of temporary migrants in Quebec and analyzes these experiences in the territorial context of the Lotbinière region. The originality of this research project is to approach temporary workers not only as a source of labor, but as people belonging to a family in order to better understand the challenges related to family migration under temporary immigrant status in the region.
