Cécile Lefèvre is a professor of Sociology and Demography and a researcher for the Cerlis Laboratory at the University of Paris Descartes, France. She is also an associate researcher at the French National Institute of Demographic Studies. Her research focuses on the relation between the evolution of policies and systems related to social protection, demographic dynamics, and intergenerational relations in post-Soviet countries, France, Europe, and, recently, Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS). Migration is an obvious component of these transformations: How does migration modify demographic evolution and inter-generational solidarity? What policies address it? How does migration compel us to rethink the issue of social rights in the context of globalisation?
