Ana-Brigitte Poveda holds a master’s degree in geography from Université Laval. Her research examines refugees’ recognition of spatial inequalities, through a characterisation of their housing territory, and investigates their spatial practices and representations of the territory. It also aims to link different scales of spatial practices and representations, considering both the context of origin and the migratory trajectory of each refugee. The overall objective of this research is to deepen the understanding of the refugees’ integration into Quebec society, from a spatial point of view. Ana-Brigitte uses a mixed-method research design combining cartography, direct observation, and semi-structured interviews with migrant associations and newly arrived refugees.
