Lorena Suelves Ezquerro (Ph.D. Anthropology) holds a degree in social work from the universities of Zaragoza (Spain) and Toulouse (France) and has worked for many years as a social worker and crisis responder with migrants who recently arrived in Spain. Based in Quebec since 2007, she has done her graduate studies in anthropology at Université Laval. Her doctoral research focused on the phenomenon of spousal sponsorship from an intersectional feminist perspective. She worked as a research professional at the Claire-Bonenfant Chair, Women-Knowledge and Societies (Chaire Claire-Bonenfant, Femmes-Savoirs et Sociétés) in collaboration with Professor Isabelle Auclair (Department of Management, Université Laval). She is beginning her postdoctoral fellowship with Professor Danièle Bélanger (Department of Geography, Université Laval) on the automation and digitalization of migration programs in Canada.
