Adèle Garnier is an assistant professor in the Department of Geography at Laval University, Quebec, Canada. She was previously a lecturer and senior lecturer in the Department of Modern History, Politics and International Relations, Macquarie University, Australia. She also has experience as a postdoctoral researcher and associate researcher at the Group for Research on Ethnic Relations, Migration and Equality (GERME) at the University in the City of Brussels, Belgium, and a postdoctoral researcher at the Interuniversity Research Centre on Globalization and Work (CRIMT), University of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Her research investigates multilevel governance in migration policies, with a focus on the resettlement and labour market participation of refugees. She also studies the local integration of international students and the role played by constituency offices in the treatment of migration cases. She is the co-editor of Refugee Resettlement: Power, Politics and Humanitarian Governance (with Liliana Lyra Jubilut and Kristin Bergtora Sandvik, Berghahn Books, 2018).
